A retired veteran with the United States Air Force, Major Morrow spent 20 years of service in positions such as Chief of Police and Joint Service Headquarters Staff Officer. Major Morrow is a sponsor of the 2018 and 2019 National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic and a sports enthusiast, particularly adaptive skiing.
Using specialized equipment and training, adaptive skiing makes the sport accessible for people with disabilities. Adaptive skiing offers various possibilities, from stand-up skiing on two, three, or four-track skis to sit-down skiing on ski bikes. A ski bike takes some weight, strain, and exertion difficulty out of stand up skiing, making it possible for individuals with limb loss, muscular-neuro conditions, and other challenging conditions, to participate.
Similar to a bicycle, the ski bike features skis instead of wheels, and skiers can wear snowblades on their feet to help guide down the slopes. The ski bike is becoming increasingly popular with both amputees and able-bodied individuals due to its level of ease, stability and maneuverability.
